Food for Sharing: Harvest Moon Pancakes Making

Excited to finally kick off Food for Sharing after a long period of planning, revising, and experimenting. Our first session is inspired by Chuseok, the Korean mid-autumn harvest festival centered on family gatherings, seasonal foods, gratitude, and sharing.

Among the many dishes traditionally prepared and shared during Chuseok, we will focus on making four kinds of Korean pancakes: Kkochi Jeon (skewered pancake), Hobak Jeon (zucchini pancake), Donggeurangttaeng (minced meat fritter), and Dongtae Jeon (cod pancake).

Together, we will prepare these dishes and a simple dipping sauce made with soy sauce and sesame oil. At the end of the session, we will package the food as a small gift to take home and share with someone who comes to mind when you think of Chuseok. If you wish, I will also include a small portion of homemade kimchi.
